dpkg-prebuilt - package file name

If downloading a prebuilt package in a recipe, how might I add the arch and 
version number to the package filename after its downloaded?  The reason is 
for allowing it to be placed into an org-wide repo without overwriting the 
previous version.  I presumed this is easy, but if not I can find another 
place to do it.
