I tried to install a new kernel through apt-get on the running machine and,
while the kernel installed fine, grub did not update.

it appears that grub is not even actually installed on the target system,
so I'm guessing grub is installed and configured in one of the recipes.

furthermore, I'm using btrfs subvolumes, and apparently grub does _not_
want to work with this configuration.

Unless any of that seems like an easy fix from my end, can someone tell me
where and how I might add menu items to grub.cfg on the boot partition
during build?

thanks
